Before beginning the application, make sure you have the following information: 

1. Personal written statement of the importance of teaching financial education, why you want to become a Financial Literacy Master Teacher, and your commitment to sharing your expertise with educators across your school, district, and/or state.

2. Short biography for recognition. (See staff biographies on www.sceconomics.org for reference.)

3. A head shot to be used for recognition.  

In addition, you will need a Professional Reference Form filled out by an Administrator, Lead Teacher, Department Head, etc. at your school. You, the applicant, are responsible for sending this information to the person who you want to provide the reference.  

Upon submitting a completed application, professional reference form, and being selected as a SCFLMT candidate, you will receive information on the required Financial Literacy content-knowledge assessment, the W!SE Educator Certification Test. It is an expectation that our Financial Literacy Master Teachers receive a score of 70% or higher on this assessment.
